As I sit here, I feel like I’ve been granted a gift; an unknown wish fulfilled, but not without a dose of reality. I’m writing outside of a coffee shop and two men are sitting at the table next to me. One is playing a mandolin and the other, a stringed instrument I don’t recognize which only adds to the charmed feeling of the moment. The whole scene is beautiful…the sun is like my tea; warm and comforting without the intensity that hotness imposes. A light breeze cajoles my cheeks and the musicians are very talented. Jaunty fedoras top their heads: the icing on the cake of my moment.
I’ve always wished I could have a sound track to life, it intensifies everything; Emotions are heightened and adding that sensory element makes you feel like what you’re watching is actually an extension of you. For example, when you watch a movie and you realize that you're on the edge of your seat or about to cry. Lets be honest, the music is the real driver, no actor is that good. If the movie Babe hadn’t been scored, I definitely wouldn't have cried 3 times.

All of a sudden I heard a thud and realized from the cries that it was the noise of a body hitting the ground. I looked up and realized it was a middle aged woman who's life is now different. I can’t hear or see what happened or if she’s okay. I say a prayer as the music plays on. It seems to me, incredibly disjointed. The piercing sound of sirens came quickly, drowning out the music and the chatter of the crowd; The noise cut through the scene - freezing time - if only for a moment.
I wonder if she had any idea it was coming. Life is incredibly unpredictable; In a split second, reality shifts and you’re facing a new direction, the path completely unknown. So, you take a deep breath and trust you’ll feel the ground beneath you as you take your first step forward.
Not 10 minutes after the ambulance was gone, a little girl about 5 years old came by and handed me daises and a note wishing love, joy, peace, acceptance, kindness, and gentleness. I wish for her a life filled with each and all, every day.

There will come a moment in time for each of us, likely more than one, where what we believe our reality is, is completely rocked. Every fiber of our being thinks we KNOW, when in fact, we do not. You don’t know if your next surprise in life will be an ambulance whisking you away, or a little girl with flowers wishing you peace and joy. I don't know how statistics work, but at least for today, each seems equally likely.
So if its 50/50 (like how I boiled that down? :)) Why not expect something good to happen? Believe in magic, possibility, and miracles and you may begin to see that they are indeed, all around you. You may even be able to create moments like that for others...you get to become magical, full of possibility and create miraculous moments. What could be better than that?
